2010 NBA Free Agency: July 14th and July 15th.

As the summer continues (and rookies have already begun to show their stuff in the Summer League...John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins being the most impressive so far in my book) so does the battle for the top free agents in the league. Though many have already been scooped up, some all by the same team (I'm sure after a while these jokes/digs will get old but for now, I'm still bitter, so they'll be continuing...), there are still some key players available, key players which I can only hope struggling teams are making a pass at. Heres whats happened over the past couple of days though...

-Orlando Magic match JJ Redick's offer sheet from the Chicago Bulls (much to my disappointment).
-Mike Miller finally agrees to play for the Miami Heat on a 5 year, $25 million contract.
-Michael Beasley is finally officially part of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
-Houston Rockets resign Luis Scola for 5 years and $47 million.
-Raja Bell heads to the Utah Jazz on a 3 year, $10 million deal.
-Al Jefferson to the Utah Jazz is finally made official (but they are still deciding on whether hes going to play power forward or center).
-Al Harrington heads to the Denver Nuggets for 5 years, $20 million.

For now the question on my mind is who the Chicago Bulls are going to go after now that they've lost their chances with JJ Redick. Word on the street is that Shannon Brown is going to resign with the Lakers, so perhaps they shouldn't focus on him, but I think Matt Barnes would be a good fit, as would Ronnie Brewer (though maybe they should expand their visions a bit beyond just the Utah Jazz). Of course, they could always do a trade-and-sign with Luol Deng, but short of Andres Iguodala (and the original AI, but I know I'm going to get yelled at for that seeing as he hasn't been the most consistent in terms of actually playing lately) I can't really think of anyone to trade for. Hm...guess it will all unravel itself soon...

  1. I thought Al Harrington signed for the full mid level exception for five years which should be around $34 million. It does seem like we are raiding the Jazz but I think Brewer would be a good fit. He's like Thabo defensively but can also put the ball in the hoop.
