As we continue along the sometimes wonderful, sometimes heartbreaking path of free agency, it is become clearer and clearer that the teams snubbed by Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and Lebron James (you may choose to call them the new big three but personally I think they have yet to deserve that title, and may never actually do so) are not letting their misfortunes get the best of them, but instead are pursuing the dozens of free agents left, trying to better their squads. Many of the offers currently floating about have yet to be agreed to, especially in regards to restricted free agents, but here is what happened (or is beginning to happen since) yesterday:
-Golden State Warriors extend an offer to Dorell Wright worth 3 years, roughly $10 million.
-Golden State Warriors (though they still have a handful of days to decide for sure) said they do not plan to match the New Jersey Nets' offer to Anthony Morrow.
-Portland Trailblazers extend an offer to Wesley Matthews for 5 years, $34 million (but again, the Utah Jazz have seven days to match this number, though rumor is that this will not be taking place).
-Lebron James and Chris Bosh both agree to matching 6 year, $110.1 million contracts.
-Dwyane Wade agrees to a 6 year, $107.5 million contract.
-Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and Lebron James all have have early termination options after the fourth season, allowing them to return to the free agency in the summer of 2014, and a player option for the final season (2015-2016).
-New Jersey Nets agree to a 3 year, $10 million deal with Johan Petro.
-New Orleans Hornets agree to a 2 year, $2.5 million deal with Luther Head.
-Miami Heat meet with Derek Fisher.
-Minnesota Timberwolves are still working out a deal with Michael Beasley.
-Miami Heat are still working out a deal with Mike Miller.
As I said, many teams are getting to work. And most seem to be headed in a positive direction.
